Hi, I’m Ethan Shek, a third-year New Media Interactive Development student at RIT who is passionate about
combining creativity, technology, and storytelling to build interactive experiences that are both fun and
meaningful.
When I am not designing or coding, you can find me at the gym 💪🏻, spending time with friends 🤪, or competing on the
🐯 RIT D1 League of Legends team. I enjoy challenging myself in everything I do because growth comes from exploring
new experiences and learning from them.
My passion for creativity began in the kitchen. Food has always been a way for me to express myself through
endless combinations of flavors. Cooking taught me that creativity is not about following a recipe but about
experimenting, adapting, and finding new ways to make something your own.
Food helped shape the person I am today. It gave me confidence, strengthened my ability to communicate, and
taught me how to take feedback and turn it into growth. Just like in design, every recipe is a work in progress.
Each iteration adds a new flavor, a new insight, and a new way to connect with others.
I carry that same mindset into my UX/UI and front-end work. I do not just follow the recipe, I create my
own. I
am always exploring new ways to bring creativity into the world of design while blending technical skill with
artistic experimentation. Whether I am developing a digital interface or creating a physical prototype, my goal
is to design experiences that bring people together in the same way food does.
I believe that good design, like good food, is about balance, emotion, and experience. It should look great, feel intuitive, and leave people with something memorable. I aim to design interfaces and visuals that don’t just function, they connect.
